Greenhouse cultivation above ground: the green revolution

Above-ground greenhouse cultivation is our flagship activity. Using state-of-the-art technology, we are able to maximize the yield of our plants while reducing environmental impact. Our greenhouses, designed to optimize the microclimate, allow us to constantly monitor crop conditions. With a spiked irrigation system, we save up to 90 percent water compared to traditional methods, proving that it is possible to produce responsibly. Plants grow in a zero-impact plant substrate, limiting the use of pesticides and ensuring a healthier and tastier end product. Choosing L’Ape di Giulietta therefore means choosing agriculture that respects the planet.

Environmentally sustainable and recyclable pots:
a step forward for the environment

The pots we decided to use are a real revolution in the world of cultivation. They are made of GranPlast, a material derived from the recycling of packaging such as Tetra Pak®, which is completely recyclable and carbon black free, allowing for simple and sustainable disposal. Not only that, the pots maintain an optimal root temperature, ensuring stronger, healthier plants. Tests have shown significant reductions in substrate temperature, with peaks of 10°C lower than traditional black containers.

Controlled irrigation systems:
efficiency without waste

Responsible management of water resources is a priority for us. Inside our greenhouses, we have implemented a pin irrigation system that ensures precise distribution of water and nutrients, thus avoiding waste. Even in open fields, we use innovative conduits to administer the right amount of water to each plant. This approach not only promotes healthy and uniform growth, but also allows us to respect the environment and limited water resources.

Shade painting for greenhouses:
comfort and sustainability

Our choice to use an environmentally friendly shade paint is another tangible example of our commitment to sustainability. Unlike traditional whitewashing with lime, which can release toxic substances and pollutants, this paint is completely free of harmful components, thus ensuring a healthier environment not only for plants, but also for those working in greenhouses. A particularly advantageous aspect of this paint is its ability to effectively regulate the temperature inside greenhouses, lowering it by up to 5°C. In addition, the resin-based composition of this paint allows us to tailor the intensity and coverage to the specific needs of each crop.
